“Revival”

 “Revival”

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. (Hebrews 13:2)

Sometimes I believe that, in charismatic circles, we are looking to “experience the glory”, without proper understanding of where and how God’s glory manifests itself.

As I have learned in my own life, God will bring signs and wonders right when and where they are needed. These supernatural gifts are for the Glory of God and the Service of His people. Therefore, to put those who operate in them…those who have conversations with angels, “trips to the third heaven” - to name but a few examples - on a pedestal…without considering their character or maturity as a Christian (and without actually TESTING their claims) is extremely unwise.

If all our emphasis is on the claims of signs, wonders and physical miracles, we are walking down a dangerous road, which if unchecked will ultimately end here: Revelation 13:11-17

For Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

I have seen even children caught up in this: Based on their claims of seeing visions of Jesus, Heaven or angels, these children are pushed into the limelight and pedestaled by their parents. Whether true or not, this is irresponsible and tragic...and will ultimately ruin these children’s precious souls.

We live in a culture that demands exceptionalism - and loves to create celebrities. But we are not supposed to be like that culture: We’re supposed to be SET APART from it. (Romans 12:2)

What we should be teaching our children - and reminding ourselves of - is this:

…That the Lord didn’t come for the best of the best.

But for those who realize that, when weighed and measured against His perfect standard, they are the very worst of the worst (Matthew 3:3-5; Luke 5:31-32)…and in dire need of the Salvation of the Cross.

We should never lose sight of where we came from in our souls…because Paul did not: See 1Timothy 1:12-16.

This does not mean that we should revisit our past over and over: heaven forbid! Only that we should NOT FORGET where the Lord brought us out from - and, as burning branches plucked from the fire, be THANKFUL: This alone should give us a yearning desire to stoop down and pull others out from the same pit: to be the hands, feet, heart of Jesus! Is this not the place where the REAL encounters take place…with people - and with angels? When this is who we become, we know we are experiencing true “revival”.

Roots expand underground in the darkness - the hidden place, that the tree may stand, firmly grounded through the storm. This expansion does not come without faith, time, patience and endurance, and goes entirely un-noticed and un-acclaimed,  because it takes place underground . And yet we know that this expansion is essential to the life and health of the tree.  So it is for the Church in this hour… “What is a house without its foundations?  A house built quickly- on sand    - will not stand - but th...

The Final Reformation Vol.3, Ch.14 The Unraveling to the End

The Final Dispensation   Romans 8: 35  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?  36  As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long;  we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  38  For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,  39  nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Isaiah 52:7 This picture - taken from the movie “ War Games ”, is as close as I can get, to describe the John 12:24 glory over the nations: the overlapping and arching lines are the Body of Christ as we go out to preach the Gospel; the dark background is the evil of the anti christ regime and the wh...

The Final Reformation Vol.3, Ch.8 ~ The Love of a Motley Crew

~From now on, whenever I write “the clock was ticking” or words along that line, I am referring to the winding down of the time of the Gentiles spoken of by Paul in Romans 11:25 - and the lead up to “ Jacob ’s trouble”, spoken of in Jeremiah 30:7 (which I believe to be the (7) or 3 1/2 years of great tribulation) *With regards to the differing views on eschatology, I can only write what I saw, enforcing it, as best I can, with the Word of God. You the reader, may or may not agree.* ~~~ {In 1607, landed at Cape Henry, Virginia and surrounded by a motley crew of sailors, ex-criminals and prospectors, the Rev. Robert Hunt kneels under a seven foot cross, brought with him from England and prays the following: “Father, we come to you in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ our Savior to dedicate this land to the glory of God…Father in Heaven, we consecrate this Cross.   We consecrate ourselves to the Great Commission , making disciples of all the people of this new land.   We consec...
