2Chronicles 7:14 - Lessons from Esther

The Book of Esther : The Power of Humility   Ch. 2 After these things, when the anger of King Ahasuerus had abated, he remembered Vashti and what she had done and what had been decreed against her.  Then the king’s young men who attended him said, “Let beautiful young virgins be sought out for the king.  And let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom to gather all the beautiful young virgins to the harem in Susa the citadel, under custody of Hegai, the king’s eunuch, who is in charge of the women. Let their cosmetics be given them. And let the young woman who pleases the king be queen instead of Vashti.” This pleased the king, and he did so.   In the four year period between Esther ch.1 & ch.2, when Esther becomes queen - King Xerces ( Ahasuerus), r uler   of the Persian Empire,  will embark upon a failed attempt to subdue the armies of the Empire of Greece. He will return, himself subdued, humbled and finally ready to be introduced to one greater than himsel

The Mountain of Media Part II

From the summit of Babel … Another sound   I heard the sound of accolades…incredible accolades…truly high, high praise! “ Wow! They know how to praise Jesus ” I thought. I marveled at what I was hearing - and I was encouraged. “This praise isn’t for Jesus.”, a watchman next to me spoke. (He was from the region of China - and I strongly believe, a pastor of an underground house church)  He continued: “They are not in any way praising the Lord.”  “ Then who are they praising? ”, I asked. “They are praising one other!”, he responded. I gazed around at the huge arena in which I now stood. In as few words as possible, I will describe and explain -  what I was seeing…what I was hearing:  The arena was covered with screens, around and above. Front and center stood a huge stage: Upon it were apostles, prophets, pastors and workers of miracles (faith healers)  These “church luminaries” were fairly showering each other with accolades! Accolades that I thought at first were going to Jesus Christ…
