Father, even in the midst of this COVID crisis, why is it that all I can think about is the millions upon millions of babies that have been slaughtered worldwide since 1973: The fact that this virus has strangely posed little or no threat to babies and small children, and yet, has become the biggest threat to those who were adults at that time (baby boomers). Lord, we know you have NEVER- and WILL NOT EVER ignore the shedding of innocent blood and the cries of the defenseless. We recognize that we are under your hand of discipline Lord - and now I stand here as a woman and a mother; sober-minded and calm, but yet, thinking the unthinkable: Will we be next? All I can do is repent as a Woman, and stand in the gap on behalf of all women everywhere:
Lord, please forgive us for not honoring you in the freedom you have given us; for not honoring you with our bodies: We confess that we have brazenly and defiantly declared our bodies to be “our own”, to do with as “we will”, without considering - or caring - that we have been created by You, in Your image, for Your purposes (Genesis2:18). Father forgive us for despising our femininity and treating with contempt the God-ordained role that you have given us. Lord, against You, and You alone have we sinned, and done such evil in Your eyes. Forgive us for the shedding of innocent blood - instead of protecting and nurturing, we have murdered in cold blood, that which You have entrusted into our care - the most innocent and vulnerable. Lord, we remember that for this reason, You have destroyed whole nations, including Your Own People Israel: God in your mercy BRING US WEEPING TO OUR KNEES IN REPENTANCE. Holy Spirit, convict us as women, of sin, righteousness and judgement, before it is too late. Teach us the lessons of 1Peter3:3-5: That we would clothe ourselves, not with vanity, but with the inward beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. This is so precious and beautiful to You Lord - and You are all that matters. In your mercy, bring us back as women, to our place in You; like the “prodigal son” please Lord, lead us home. Enable us, as women of God, to lead the Way.
In Your Name I pray
Amen
