 Why do we fast?

To get God’s attention…to bend His Arm…to earn His favor…?

No: Through the Cross of Jesus Christ, we already have all of this.

So why then do we fast?

To refine us - For the Lord to teach us that “man does not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God”…That we would not look to things of this world (what we see, hear, taste, smell, touch) to sustain us, but that we would look to Jesus Christ - who is The Word…our manna from Heaven.

(2Cor 4:18; John6:25-58)

To refocus us - That our attention would not be on the things of this world to satisfy us…but to the things of God . Because the things of this world are passing away, but the things of God are eternal.

(1John2:15-17)

To reprogram us - That we would not be controlled by every demand and desire of the flesh, but that we would be controlled by the Spirit, turning to God as our first and only source.

(Romans 8:5-11)

To humble us - To get our attention back to the Sacrifice of His Son…for His Glory. “And I fed you with manna- a food neither you, nor your ancestors knew” (Deuteronomy. 8:3) … in other words, their survival in the wilderness had absolutely NOTHING to do with them…they were not their own saviors - YHWH was their Savior…and this was humbling.

We must learn the same thing (there can be no celebrities in the Body of Christ). Revival is not going to come from any person…it will come from God…so let EVERY person seek God and His Kingdom FIRST!

Whenever the Lord raises up prophets in the Body of Christ, it is to bring His people back to following HIM…not to following the prophet! Unfortunately, this is exactly what is happening. We need to stop looking to people. Because there is nothing we could ever do to earn or deserve anything He gives us! The sooner we realize this, the sooner we will be ready for revival…where all our pride and presumption will have been burned off…

Because

The Lord will bring an awakening, different to anything we have ever known before…to bring in such a harvest of souls that will be beyond our comprehension…and

HE DOES NOT NEED OUR INTERFERENCE! -

He requires our obedience! Please God help us!

What Israel went through in the desert - learning how to “worship God” with virtually nothing to help or sustain them, except Him - was a type of fast: And I believe God is calling us the same way…to lay down everything and everyone we are looking to and relying on (this is a form of idolatry)…and with empty hands and open hearts, repent and return to our First Love.

So yes…if we’re serious about revival, I believe we have to fast - Not for God’s benefit…but for ours!

Ch.14 The Unraveling to the End

Isaiah 52:7 This picture - taken from the movie “ War Games ”, is as close as I can get, to describe the John 12:24 glory over the nations: the overlapping and arching lines are the Body of Christ as we go out to preach the Gospel; the dark background is the evil of the anti christ regime and the white orbs are literally bright white explosions, representative of both Salvation and martyrdom : because in the days I was looking at here, there would not be one without the other. These two things went hand in hand! “ Now   is   my   soul   troubled .  And   what  shall   I  say ?  ‘ Father ,  save   me   from   this  hour ’?  But   for   this  purpose   I   have   come  to  this hour .   Father ,  glorify   your  name .”   Then   a   voice   came   from   heaven :“ I   have   glorified   it ,  ...

Ch.13 The Unraveling ~ Part III

I saw a world without borders: As if all borders between nations (at least, borders as we understand them to be)  had been dissolved  - the anti-Christ system had seen to that…but of course, the Lord was way ahead of him and using it for His purpose and His glory.   I knew that the unraveling was not going to stop until the End. And it would end in the very place where the Gospel first began: Israel   ~ see previous chapter. i To Every Nation And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached throughout the world, as a witness to all nations and then the end will come…Matthew 24:14 {From  Kim Clement vision ~ “The Resurrection”: see prefix to ch.3 “Last Call” Kim Clement: “Everybody SHOUT!…there’s a victory!…Shout and clap your hands!” This one final surge against the darkness…God’s “Last Call”…seemed to penetrate everywhere…people started rushing from all over…every tribe and people…even unto the farthest islands of the sea…through the Door that is Christ…and whi...

Ch.8 ~ The Love of a Motley Crew

~From now on, whenever I write “the clock was ticking” or words along that line, I am referring to the winding down of the time of the Gentiles spoken of by Paul in Romans 11:25 - and the lead up to “ Jacob ’s trouble”, spoken of in Jeremiah 30:7 (which I believe to be the (7) or 3 1/2 years of great tribulation) *With regards to the differing views on eschatology, I can only write what I saw, enforcing it, as best I can, with the Word of God. You the reader, may or may not agree.* ~~~ {In 1607, landed at Cape Henry, Virginia and surrounded by a motley crew of sailors, ex-criminals and prospectors, the Rev. Robert Hunt kneels under a seven foot cross, brought with him from England and prays the following: “Father, we come to you in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ our Savior to dedicate this land to the glory of God…Father in Heaven, we consecrate this Cross.   We consecrate ourselves to the Great Commission, making disciples of all the people of this new land.   We consecr...
