Read 1Kings18:20-40
Vs. 27 And at noon Elijah mocked them, saying, “Cry aloud, for he is a god. Either he is musing, or he is relieving himself, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is asleep and must be awakened.” 28 And they cried aloud and cut themselves after their custom with swords and lances, until the blood gushed out upon them. 29 And as midday passed, they raved on until the time of the offering of the oblation, but there was no voice. No one answered; no one paid attention...vs 40 Then Elijah commanded them, “Seize the prophets of Baal. Don’t let anyone get away!” They seized them, and Elijah had them brought down to the Kishon Valley and slaughtered there.
~Was Elijah being ‘unloving’?...
NO! ... Chains of bondage that are this thick and tightly wrapped, require an extremely hard hitting and/or sharp tool to break them....
Because real Love sets the captive free...therefore Real Love must speak the truth (John8:32) - no matter how hard it is to hear (read Matt 23)
Do not mistake the Love of God with any New Age imitation from the Enemy of Love and the father of all lies.
Because God, in His Love, is shaking His Church to her foundations- much of which is not good. Fault lines and chasms have now appeared, and we must decide which side we are on (1Kings18:21). The time of ‘red-carpet Christianity’, of ‘seeker-sensitive church’....of flirting with this world - is over.
Do not be afraid: God is sifting...He will separate us before He unifies us, so that when He does, we will be pure, undiluted and more unified than we ever were before...under One Head - Jesus Christ!
